Just days before the MotoGP Thai GP, Jorge Martín suffered severe injuries to his left hand. At this point, there is still no confirmed date for his return to the track.

Following this major setback, the Aprilia rider’s mother, Susana, spoke on the El Larguero podcast: ‘That’s life. This sport is like a carousel: sometimes you go up, sometimes you go down, and the important thing is to get back up. Jorge has had so many injuries throughout his career. In the end, it’s all about getting back up’.

Susana continued: ‘It happened at a bad time because you start with high expectations. Jorge was really looking forward to getting on his new bike and using the number 1. It will take some time, but he is fine. The important thing is that he recovers well –everything else can wait. As he said, «There are so many races, but I only have one hand»’.

Regarding the healing process, Martinator’s mother explained: ‘He seems fine, but it’s slow. That’s because the scaphoid is a very tricky bone. He suffered multiple fractures in the crash, but the worst one is the scaphoid fracture’.
